Work Posters is a project by artist and choreographer Phoebe Berglund. Produced in two editions, Manual Labor Stretches and Office Stretches, each poster presents a range of effective stretching exercises for workers across the labor force.
A portion of sales proceeds will be donated to Hong Kong to NYC: Mask Circuit, a supply network organized by Tiffany Sia (HK) and Wilfred Chan (NYC) to send masks from Hong Kong to New York City ASAP by crowdfunding to funnel supplies sourced by Hong Kongers and factories to frontline healthcare workers, frontline wage workers, indigenous communities, people who are immunocompromised, and those who live with immunocompromised roommates/family/etc. Track their progress here.
Phoebe Berglund is an American artist based in NYC working primarily as a choreographer, focusing on contemporary gestures, occupational dances, rituals and reenactments. Her projects generate performances, photos, videos and drawings. Recently her work has been presented at MoMA PS1, Storm King Art Center, Lubov Gallery NY, The Center for Performance Research, Movement Research at Judson Memorial Church, Boghossian Foundation Villa Empain Brussels, New Art Dealers Alliance NY, Material Art Fair Mexico City. She earned her MFA at Hunter College and is the recipient of the Leutz/Reidel Fellowship at the Universitat der Kunst Berlin. Berglund is a former member of the Bureau for the Future of Choreography and a current member of the Democratic Socialists of America North Brooklyn Branch. She has upcoming shows in London at Sadlers Wells Theater in 2020 and TBD Shanghai in 2021.
